This bed frame featured a 12” wide, slightly Spalted, solid piece of maple. It was linseed oil finished and turned out to be a simple but gorgeous piece!

Maple Coffee Table Restoration
This was a beautiful restoration! It’s always a pleasure to restore a beautiful piece of furniture like this maple coffee table. It was stripped, sanded down, stained red walnut and refinished. There are so many great years left in this little beauty! We’re so glad we were able to help this family keep it around a while longer!
Bilbo Baggins’ Mailbox Replica
One of the highest priorities for the Roush-Krafka family is making their house resemble Bilbo Baggins’ as much as possible. Ryan surprised Jeanette with a replica of Bilbo’s mailbox, which he of course made by hand. It is made entirely of red cedar with copper accents that Ryan cut out and hammered to make resemble the original. As this mailbox weathers it will look more and more like Bilbo’s and we’re so excited to surprise each other with treasures hidden inside on special occasions.
Walnut Island Countertop
This gorgeous island countertop was made entirely of local walnut. Walnut is a durable hard wood with a ton of character. This countertop was built to sit atop a pre-existing cabinet. It turned out gorgeous and brings such warmth to this gathering space, and now there’s extra room at the end for bar stool seating. So many memories are about to be made around this countertop.
St. Mary’s Entryway
We were asked to design and build a pamphlet and book holder for the entryway of St. Mary’s Church in Iowa City to help organize and display literature that was previously stacked over a register in their entryway. We were only too happy to oblige and we were thrilled with the outcome. We’re so happy to see it being put to good use. It’s already filled to the brim!
We were also asked to replicate a previously existing bulletin board for their entryway so they would have more space to display notices. Their entryway is now so much more organized and so much more can be displayed. We were so happy to help make that happen.

Personalized Pine Boxes
This project is the perfect example of urban lumber. Our good friend had a pine tree that needed to come down. She had it felled, we took the tree to our sawyer, Paul Koffron, he milled it and kiln dried it then we used the wood to make the boxes our client requested.
These boxes feature box joints, a magnetic lid, felt interior, and a personalized engraving on the top. We’re so glad we were able to help reunite this family tree with its family.
