Kitchen Island

This kitchen island features a thick walnut butcher block top, soft close hardware, a large pull out drawer for trash and recycling, two pull out trays behind doors for large pots, pans and dishes, a large utensil drawer, and a bench seat. It was designed to be movable so it could be easily relocated if the customer ever wanted to rearrange the kitchen, or needed to move it to accommodate maneuvering large appliances. As is the case with all our custom pieces, this kitchen island was built to the specifications of our customer, with their existing kitchen and convenience in mind. This customer had the wonderful vision of incorporating a bench seat into the kitchen island as a means of saving and efficiently utilizing space. The bench was a must for seating their small children around the kitchen table. This kitchen island was a joy to create. We hope many happy memories and life’s milestones are made and shared around it.

Wooden Baby Rattle Blocks

These wooden baby block rattles were made for a friend who was given a similar one as a child. He carries it with him to this day as a good luck token of sorts. He’s taken it with him on his many world travels and he wanted to pass the tradition on to his niece or nephew to be. These blocks were made from locally and sustainably sourced walnut, cherry, and oak. Six were painted with non toxic, food contact safe The Real Milk Paint Co. paint and all were finished with food contact safe tung oil.

Ash and Walnut Chess Boards

A customer came to us requesting that we make him four chess boards as Christmas gifts for his grandchildren and that we engrave Grandpa Bruce on his side of one of the boards. Making chess boards was a new endeavor for us, but a welcomed challenge. We were well pleased with the outcome, especially for our first attempt. These chess boards are made of a walnut and ash veneer over a plywood substrate, framed with walnut, and finished with satin polyurethane.

Walnut and Cherry Cookbook Holders

A customer came to us requesting a cookbook holder. We did some designing and testing and came up with this product. We made this batch out of locally and sustainably sourced cherry and walnut. We fit an iron hinge on it as a stand and fabricated an adjustable walnut kickstand to ensure the base doesn’t slip out. The kickstand is fitted with a small magnet so it sticks to the back of the holder when you want it to stay up. We put a leather pad on the bottom of both the holder and the iron base to make sure neither scratches counter surfaces. We also attached two metal chains to hold the pages of the cookbook open.

Not only are they highly functional, they’re gorgeous and would be a beautiful addition to any chef or baker’s kitchen.

Maple Butcher Block Top with Welded Steel Base

A customer came to us with an unfinished maple butcher block table top she acquired from the cabinet factory she worked at. She wondered if we would be willing to finish it and make a base for it. We were only too happy to oblige. We welded a steel base together and painted it matte black, put a few coats of satin finish on the top and securely attached the top to the bottom. The end result was sleek and elegant, which perfectly matched the look of the room it was intended for.

Mid-century Modern Walnut Desk

A customer, who began doing some work from home during covid, came to us requesting a proper desk so he would no longer have to work from home at a plastic fold out table. We worked with him and his wife to design a table that would match the style and decor of the room and ended up with this stylish and simplistic mid-century modern, walnut desk, which allots him with plenty of room for all the monitors necessary for his work. The end product turned out beautifully vibrant and alive, simple, elegant, and most importantly, highly functional.

Stained Oak Kennel Topper

A customer came to us with a simple yet elegant idea. They wanted two finished table tops to set on top of their dog kennels, thus transforming the dog kennels into functional night stands. These kennel toppers were made of stained and satin finished oak plywood, and they did the trick perfectly. They not only added functional space, they also helped to enhance the aesthetic quality of the room.
